Tunisia suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Namibia at the Amadou John Coulibaly Stadium on Tuesday in the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The only goal of the match was scored by Namibian Dion Hutu two minutes before the end of normal time (min. 88).

With this victory, the Namibian national team scored the first 3 “historic” points, after tasting the taste of victory for the first time in its fourth participation in the African Cup of Nations, and ironically, achieved its first victory at the expense of its Tunisian counterpart, who surpasses it 87 places in the classification of the International Federation (FIFA) for teams.

Tunisia ranks 28th in the FIFA ranking and is the third team in the African continent rankings.

With this victory, Namibia climbed to second place in the Group E table on goal difference behind leaders Mali, who beat South Africa (fourth place) by two clean goals, while Tunisia remained without points in third place in the group.
