Egypt made it difficult to reach the round of 16 of the African Cup of Nations football tournament currently being held in Ivory Coast, drawing with Ghana (2-2) in the match that brought them together on Thursday, in the second round of the group stage.

The goals of the Ghana national team (Black Stars) Mohamed Quddus were scored in the 45+3 and 71st minutes, while the goals of the Egyptian national team (Pharaohs) Omar Marmoush and Mustafa Mohamed were scored in the 69th and 74th minutes, respectively.

The Egyptian national team received another painful blow with the exit of its star captain Mohamed Salah injured in the second minute of stoppage time for the first half (45 + 2) after complaining of pain in the back muscle of the left thigh, and Mustafa Fathi entered instead.

With this result, Egypt, who drew with Mozambique (2-2) in the first round, rose to two points in second place in the standings of the teams in Group B, while Ghana got the first point of their tournament campaign, after losing (1-2) in the opening round to Cape Verde.

Egypt will conclude its first-round matches against Cape Verde on Monday, while Ghana will play Mozambique in the same round.
