Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, tasked with coordinating the proposed meeting between Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Daglo (Hemedti), said that as of Tuesday evening, he could not communicate with Hemedti.
Abiy Ahmed said that he obtained Burhan’s approval to meet in accordance with the terms of the ceasefire, and the exit of the Rapid Support Forces from the homes of citizens and civilian objects, considering the violations of the Rapid Support Forces in Gezira state and the city of Wad Madani.
Information had been suggested that the meeting would take place on Thursday, while there was conflicting information about Hemedti’s arrival amid rumors that he had died or suffered a serious injury that prevented him from moving or being able to speak.
