The Moroccan city of Casablanca witnessed a horrific incident, where a young man tortured his 63-year-old mother and flogged her to death, claiming to “cleanse her of sins.”
Investigations revealed that the accused had converted to an extremist sect and decided to punish his mother after suspecting her of committing disgraceful behavior, according to “Al-Sabah newspaper”.
The incident began when the accused, under the influence of his extremist ideas, decided to flog his mother for hours until she died due to her inability to bear the cruelty of torture.
Despite his denial of his extremism, stressing that the motive behind killing his mother was a dispute over the purchase of a sacrifice for Eid al-Adha, investigators were able to find evidence indicating his adoption of extremist ideology and following his content on social media platforms.
