The World Health Organization has issued a warning to citizens in several countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Brazil, regarding fake slimming injections that have been discovered and pose a deadly danger.

The British newspaper “The Times” published a report from the World Health Organization showing that these injections contain harmful substances or undeclared ingredients that put people’s lives at risk.

The organization revealed that these counterfeit products find their way to consumers through regulated supply channels, including clinics and licensed medical practitioners, making it more difficult to identify them as counterfeit products.

The organization indicated that three counterfeit batches of the product Semaglutide (of the specific brand Ozempic) were discovered in Brazil, the United Kingdom in October 2023, and the United States of America in December 2023.

She explained that the World Health Organization’s Global Surveillance and Monitoring System (GSMS) has observed an increase in reports related to adulterated semaglutide products since 2022.

The World Health Organization also stressed the importance of extreme caution by regulatory bodies and consumers alike, noting the need to pay attention to common warning signs, such as spelling errors on packages, and the importance of verifying sources before purchasing or using any weight-loss injections.

She noted that the situation requires an urgent response to protect public health and ensure the safety of citizens, which reflects the urgent need for international cooperation and regulatory intervention to prevent the distribution of these dangerous products.

It is noteworthy that in 2022, there were 2.5 billion adults (aged 18 years and above) suffering from being overweight, or 43%, of whom 890 million people were living with obesity, or 16%, according to WHO statistics. Globalism.
