Russian budget revenues from oil and gas in the first quarter of this year increased by 79.1% compared to the same period last year.

According to data from the Russian Finance Ministry, oil and gas revenues rose in the first three months of this year to 2.9 trillion rubles (about $31 billion).

The Finance Ministry attributed the increase in revenues mainly to higher Russian oil prices, along with the Russian budget receiving additional tax revenues from the fourth quarter of last year from oil extraction operations.

The data also indicated that Russia’s non-oil and gas budget revenues rose in the first quarter of 2024 by 43.2 percent to 5.8 trillion rubles (about $62 billion).
