In the midst of preparations for the 2024 presidential elections, a sexual harassment scandal has rocked the Nuclear Security Agency, under the administration of President Joe Biden.
The US Department of Energy has initiated investigations against the second-in-command at the Nuclear Security Agency, Frank Rose, following complaints about his behavior.
According to eight current and former government officials familiar with the matter, complaints regarding Rose’s conduct did not receive an appropriate response, prompting an internal investigation into allegations of sexual harassment and a hostile work environment.
The investigation into Rose, the Deputy Administrator for the National Nuclear Security Administration, aged 51, began earlier this year by the Department of Energy’s Office of Hearings and Appeals, according to two officials who spoke with the American newspaper Politico.
Mark Zaid, Rose’s attorney, stated in a statement that his client “denies ever acting in a manner intended to cause his colleagues discomfort or to create any form of harassment.”
It’s worth noting that the Nuclear Security Administration is responsible for maintaining US nuclear weapons, providing energy for submarines and aircraft carriers, and safeguarding nuclear materials worldwide.
