Sudan House in Cairo hosted the roundtable activities for reconstruction in Sudan, which was organized by the Sudanese-Egyptian Integration Center in the presence of the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in Egypt, Ambassador Sadiq Omar.
The meeting issued about 70 recommendations related to reconstruction in Sudan, and the meeting was organized under the umbrella of the Supreme Sovereign Committee for Reconstruction and Reparations, chaired by the Sudanese Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Jibril Ibrahim.
Among the outstanding recommendations of the meeting was the need to use technical means to account for losses and to establish a reconstruction bank.
The meeting stressed the importance of the state’s control over the management of strategic sectors and the restoration of the role of the economy, in cooperation with the private sector with financial and technical capabilities.
The meeting stressed the need to focus on rebuilding the Sudanese people on the basis of rights and duties and called for the establishment of a Council on Foreign Relations, inspired by the models of the United States and Egypt, in addition to working to develop the capabilities of diplomatic cadres.
The meeting called for activating private and public sector partnerships, attracting the community, and benefiting from the legacy of the endowment, and other types of partnership in the reconstruction processes.
