A 4-storey property collapsed in Port Said Governorate, northern Egypt, today, Saturday, a few hours before the decision to evacuate it was implemented, and the authorities continue to search for survivors under the rubble.
The Egyptian authorities received a report of the collapse of a property on Al-Baladiya Street in Al-Manakh neighborhood in Port Said, causing injuries. Immediately, civil protection forces and ambulances rushed to the site of the accident.
It turned out that the property was inhabited by a small number of people, including a young man and his wife who had gotten married just days before.
The forces were able to recover a 23-year-old young man, and he was taken to the hospital, and the authorities began removing the rubble to search for other victims or injured people.
The authorities imposed a security cordon around the property and cut off services from neighboring properties.
Investigations showed that a decision had been issued to evacuate the property for fear of its collapse. However, implementation had not been carried out until the moment of the accident, and the prosecution, which investigated the accident, was notified.
