Morocco maintained their lead in Group F at the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire by beating Zambia by an unanswered goal on Wednesday in the final third round of the group stage.
Hakim Ziyech scored the only goal of the match with a powerful shot from inside the box in the 37th minute. The “Atlas Lions” raised their tally to seven points to qualify for the final price at the top of Group F, four points behind the second Democratic Republic of Congo, which also qualified for the next round.
Morocco contributed to gifting the qualification card to Côte d’Ivoire, the host of the tournament, as one of the four best third-placed teams by beating Zambia and freezing its tally at two points.
