Libyan Prime Minister, Osama Hamad, made a night inspection tour to check on the progress of work on major projects in the city.
Hamad was accompanied on his tour by Engineer Balqasim Haftar, Director General of the Development and Reconstruction Fund, and Hatem Al-Araibi, Chairman of the Reconstruction and Stabilization Committee.
This tour comes to highlight the progress in the expansion and development work of a number of main roads and vital areas in Benghazi, such as Tripoli Road and the western entrance to the city.
In the same context, and within the second phase of the Benghazi development project, international companies are participating in the preparatory work for new projects.
Among these companies are the Chinese company “Power China” and the Portuguese “design” company, which conducted field visits to selected sites, including the Al-Marissa Free Zone, where the necessary engineering studies and designs were carried out.
The second phase of the development of Benghazi was launched last Monday and includes the implementation of a group of vital projects in the major city, as the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund announced the start of this phase during a press conference held inside the municipal headquarters.
The second phase also includes improving and developing the sewage network throughout the city, completing the third ring road all the way to Sidi Younes Island, and establishing two hospitals with a capacity of 100 beds in the west and east of the city, in addition to the Al-Mreissa Free Zone.
