A new campaign has emerged calling for a ban on Saad Lamjarred ‘s participation in the “Mawazine Rhythms of the World” festival in Morocco.
The campaign comes against the backdrop of active calls on social media under the slogan “No to Saad’s concerts just in Morocco”, reflecting rising voices opposing his artistic appearance in the country.
According to local media reports, the management of the Mawazine Festival has not contacted Lakhri or its management team about organizing its participation in the upcoming nineteenth session, scheduled to start next June.
Information indicates that he is not part of the artistic program planned in Morocco in the coming period, although more than eight years have passed since his last appearance there.
He was granted parole in Paris after appealing his prison sentence for rape and will remain under judicial supervision pending his new trial.
On the other hand, he continues to achieve artistic successes, as he recently launched a duet entitled “Kagusel” in collaboration with the artist Inés, which mixes French and Moroccan dialect
Filmed as a video clip in France and directed as a day of turn, the duo aims to promote traditional Moroccan music by introducing modern and contemporary musical elements.
