French newspaper L’Equipe reported on Thursday that Algerian player Nabil Bentaleb suffered from a mysterious illness and was subsequently transferred to hospital.
The newspaper reported that the player, who plays for the Algerian national team and the French club Lille, suffered a sudden health illness.
The French club Lille issued a statement explaining that Ben Taleb was transferred to Lille University Hospital to receive immediate care.
The club confirmed that it stands with the player in this ordeal and provides him with all necessary support. It also called on the club to respect the private lives of its players, and until now, the nature of the illness that afflicted Bentaleb, who is 29 years old, is not known.
It is noteworthy that Bentaleb signed with Lille from Angers last August and participated in 34 matches with the French club last season and contributed to the team occupying fourth place in the league.
