Spanish news websites reported that the National Police’s Immigration and Border Brigade recently arrested a Moroccan on charges of committing a crime against sexual freedom.
According to the same sources, the defendant was wanted by the Criminal Court in the city of Málaga, for arrest and appearance, and was arrested while trying to flee to Morocco.
The Moroccan detainee was charged with exposing the life of a gay person to verbal violence and hatred and was referred to court pending his next trial session.
A few days ago, another Moroccan was convicted to five years and one month in prison for an anti-gay attack in Pamplona, Spain, in June 2023.
The accused was tried before the first bench of the Navarra Court, where he confessed to the facts attributed to him and agreed to the commutation of the sentence proposed by the Prosecutor.
