In the early hours of Saturday morning, a huge fire broke out in the Al-Ahram studio, and the losses caused by the accident have not yet been determined.
The fire spread to three nearby buildings and resulted in a power outage in the area surrounding the incident, with 16 fire engines involved in the blaze control.
The governor of Giza ordered the evacuation of residents of the area surrounding the fire, as the decorations of the series “The Teacher” were damaged, and the filming of its scenes has not yet been completed.
The director of the series, Mark Adel, confirmed that all members of the cast left the studio moments before the fire broke out.
Preliminary investigations indicated that a short circuit in the studio was the cause of the fire, which lasted 5 hours, and this incident is the second of its kind on the set of the series in less than a month.
A previous fire broke out on the set of the series “Big Oi”, which is currently showing in the Ramadan drama season, and was brought under control without causing loss of life.
Al-Ahram Studio is one of the largest photography studios in Egypt and the Middle East, and is located in the Omrania area, one of the largest areas of Giza Governorate, as it was established during World War II, specifically in 1944.
