Dr. Abdulhadi al-Hawij, Minister of Foreign Affairs Plenipotentiary in the Libyan government, called for cooperation in order to form a comprehensive national reconciliation project that rejects the principle of victory and defeat.
During his participation in the scientific session dedicated to discussing the horizon of national reconciliation organized by the Libyan Association for Political Science, he stressed the foundations of the rule of law, institutions, and human rights as basic pillars for the future.
Al-Huwaij presented an in-depth vision of the reconciliation project as an integrated framework that includes political, economic, cultural, and societal dimensions, and benefiting from successful international experiences in the field of national reconciliation.
The Libyan minister said that any benefit from the experiences of others must take into account the political, cultural, and social specificities of Libyan society, and that the success of reconciliation requires overcoming the concept of winner and loser and achieving harmony and peaceful coexistence.
The meeting was attended by a number of members of the House of Representatives, academics, experts, and university professors, in addition to representatives of the Senate and Reconciliation Councils.
