On Tuesday, the Minister of Housing and Construction of the outgoing Libyan National Unity Government, Abu Bakr Al-Ghawi, will receive the Egyptian Deputy Minister of Housing, Dr. Sayed Ismail, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of housing and related fields, with a focus on coordination within the framework of the national plan for sanitation and water supply, according to the media office of the Libyan Ministry of Housing.

The possibility of partnering with Egyptian companies in implementing many future projects was discussed, and the discussion also addressed the workshop to be held in Tripoli, where the Egyptian delegation will present new visions and ideas, followed by a field visit to the third ring project.

Ismail expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm reception and conveyed the greetings of the Egyptian Minister of Housing, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini.

Ismail praised the constructive cooperation between the two sides, stressing the importance of continuous communication and enhancing cooperation, noting the ability of major Egyptian companies to implement and rehabilitate projects thanks to their extensive experience.

The idea of ​​developing a cooperation protocol between the regulatory body and the ministry, with the Projects Authority, which plays a vital role in determining project priorities and evaluating them technically and financially, was discussed.

The two parties agreed to hold a meeting between the ministry and the regulatory body to study the possibility of benefiting from establishing a similar body in Libya.

The Minister invited the participation of Egyptian companies specialized in urban planning, to benefit from their expertise in this field to enhance Libyan urban plans.

Ismail highlighted the importance of benefiting from Egyptian experiences in treating slums, pointing to Egypt’s success in treating 112 slum areas around Cairo.
