Moroccan lawyer Meriem Mostaqam, a member of the Casablanca Bar Association, revealed the details of the case that shook the educational community in Morocco recently, which includes harassment and rape of a French language teacher against his students.

Next week, the Casablanca Court of Appeal will continue hearing the case after a French teacher was charged with indecent assault of female students, degradation, and human trafficking.

The court is about to close the case, after important stages of the trial, after families of female students filed complaints against the teacher, who works at a well-known private school in Casablanca.

The story of this case, which left shock on the families of the students, began after a health ailment suffered by one of the students, so she was transferred by her family to a doctor, and the surprise was great after the family of the minor girl discovered that her daughter lost virginity to start the process of inquiring and searching for the culprit behind this act.

According to lawyer Mariam Mustaqam: “The person who was accused in this incident was none other than a beloved professor in the middle of the private institution who supervised the French language subject.”

The lawyer revealed to the online newspaper “Hespress” that: “The aforementioned teacher was very present in the lives of the students, which made it easier for him to lure these underage students.”

According to the victims, a member of the students’ defense stated that: “The concerned person was carrying out the luring process from inside the department,” noting that “he had great powers in the institution and took them out and sessions in cafes and cinema.”

The lawyer confirmed that the teacher “used to rent an apartment not far from the school where he works so that it is easier for him to bring the victims there.”

According to the lawyer, based on the students’ accounts: “The person concerned was practicing homosexuality on these minors without pity, and he filmed them in sexual scenes in order to put them under his command and remain in control of them.”

“The number of victims is not limited to the four complainants, but may exceed it by far, given that these victims spoke of others being subjected to the same practices, but their fear of speaking out and resorting to the judiciary prevented this from being revealed,” she said.

“Unfortunately, the victims are many and fear made them not turn to the judiciary for redress, and those who had the courage to face the problem, the judiciary will win for them,” she said.
