Mexico City police announced that they are investigating the case of a serial killer after human bones, a saw, blood, and identity cards of missing women were found in an apartment rented by the suspect.
The Mexican capital’s prosecutor’s office announced that the suspect, known only by his first name, “Miguel,” is currently being held on charges of murder and attempted murder of two women.
Miguel had assaulted a 17-year-old girl after breaking into her apartment, raping, and strangling her, and when her mother returned home, she saw him leave, where he stabbed her in the neck and fled, and the girl died, and the mother survived.
Miguel was quickly arrested because he lives near the crime scene, and upon searching another apartment he rented nearby, investigators discovered evidence suggesting he may be a serial killer.
Investigators at the apartment found a series of diaries detailing Miguel’s actions toward his victims, reinforcing the hypothesis that he was a serial killer.
