The Libyan capital, Tripoli, was shaken by a tragic accident on Sunday, as a huge fire that broke out in a tissue factory led to the death of a foreign worker.
The fire broke out in the Al-Buaishi area, near the tobacco factory, causing heavy smoke and violent fires, which made rescue efforts a difficult task.
The fire began in the afternoon hours and quickly turned into a disaster. Eyewitnesses indicated that the fire broke out suddenly and rapidly, trapping the foreign worker inside the factory and preventing him from escaping.
The Libyan Civil Defense and Emergency teams worked, in cooperation with the ambulance service, to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring buildings.
The media office of the Ambulance and Emergency Service also confirmed that several ambulances and special equipment were sent to confront the effects of the fire.
The worker’s body was transferred to the hospital to complete the necessary legal procedures, while the main reasons behind the outbreak of the fire remain unclear.
Local authorities began extensive investigations to understand the circumstances of the accident and determine possible responsibilities in this disaster.
