On Tuesday, all eyes turned to the Elysee Palace, where French President Emmanuel Macron invited French football star Kylian Mbappe to an important dinner with Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of Qatar and Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Speculation was so high about the nature of the meeting and its impact on the young player’s future that everyone thought this was to convince him to stay in Paris.

However, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano categorically denied that the purpose of the meeting was to convince Mbappe to stay in Paris.

Romano confirmed that PSG will not make any offer to extend Mbappe’s current contract, which expires in June 2024.

In another context, reports revealed that Mbappe is only considering joining Real Madrid, despite news circulating about the interest of clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool to sign him.

A video was posted showing a conversation between Mbappe, Qatar’s emir and Macron, with the latter giving ambiguous words: “It looks like you’re going to put us in trouble again.”

On the international stage, several reports have suggested that Mbappe has informed Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his desire to leave Paris, opening the door to negotiations with Real Madrid.
