The city of Braddock, Pennsylvania, witnessed on Monday a failed attempt to kill a priest during prayers in one of the city’s churches.

According to a video recorded by the church deacon and posted online, the priest was surprised when the man pointed his weapon at him in the middle of his sermon, but the gun broke down and the priest managed to get away as the deacon confronted the attacker and dropped him to the ground.

The CBS News report indicated that the priest returned with another man to help hold the attacker to the ground until police arrived, and the gunman, 26-year-old Bernard Pollitt, was charged with attempting to kill the priest and breaking into the church.

In another development, police opened an investigation into a shooting incident at the home of the attacker Bullett, after the body of a person was found inside the house.

Police said officers of the Mont Valley Regional Police Department were called and upon arrival found the man shot dead.

The homicide unit has been called in to investigate the case, but the identity of the victim has not yet been revealed, and Paulette’s role in the shooting remains unclear.

A similar incident occurred two weeks ago in Australia, where a priest was attacked with a knife, but the attack resulted in the priest suffering minor eye injuries and other minor injuries.
