The French intelligence website “Africa Intelligence” reported on Monday that a delegation from the French Businessmen Association (MEDIF) is scheduled to visit Benghazi on June 3 and 4, with support from the boom in stability witnessed in the east of the country.
The French website confirmed that the goal of this visit is to obtain reconstruction and health care contracts, and it is the first trip of its kind in years to Libya.
The visit of this delegation comes as a French attempt to benefit from the stability witnessed in eastern Libya and the continued economic growth in the region.
This visit is also linked to ongoing French attempts to return to Libya, after its retreat, coinciding with the French retreat in the traditional colonies in the African Sahel region, in the wake of the rise of national liberation movements.
