Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch received, on Monday, a delegation from the US Congress in the capital Rabat.

The visit of the six-member delegation representing the Republican and Democratic parties came within the framework of “strengthening the strategic relations between Morocco and the United States”.

During the meeting, Akhannouch expressed the Kingdom’s appreciation for the United States’ recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara at the end of 2020, praising Washington’s support for the autonomy plan in the Sahara.

The two parties also expressed their happiness with the remarkable increase in the volume of trade between the two countries, which increased from AED 43.4 billion in 2021 to AED 68.9 billion currently.
