Miss Czech Republic Kristina Pešková was crowned Miss World 2024, while Miss Lebanon Yasmina Zeitoun was the first runner-up at the end of the 71st edition of the Miss World election ceremony held in Mumbai, India.

The 23-year-old Czech model Peškova was chosen Miss World after the final stage, which included four contestants, each of whom won the title of Miss Geographical Region.

Peskova, a law student, and European qualifier was ahead of Africa (represented by Botswana), America and the Caribbean (represented by Trinidad and Tobago), Asia and Oceania (first runner-up from Lebanon).

During the competition, Yasmina Zeitoun was also awarded the title of Miss Asia, and was distinguished by her answers to the questions posed to her during the competition as well as her elegance.

Yasmina appeared in a royal blue dress and a pink look in addition to the Indian costume in which she appeared like other contestants in line with the host country.

In a telephone statement from India, Zeitoun expressed her pride in representing Lebanon “in a beautiful way” and winning the title of runner-up, noting that “it is the first time Lebanon has reached this stage in the election of Miss World.”

Zeitoun added: “I did everything I could and conveyed our voice as Lebanese, and talked about everything that is happening in Lebanon, and tried to show the world how strong and special its people are.”
