A circus performer suffered a horrific fall while performing acrobatic movements at the Summer Nights Festival in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, which sparked public panic and sharp criticism of the lack of safety measures.
Video clips circulated on social media showed the horrific moment in which the player lost her balance and her hand slipped from the hoop on which she was swinging, falling from a height of more than five meters.
The player fell on her back hard, which led to her losing consciousness, while she was unable to move after the fall.
Details have not yet been announced about the player’s health condition and the severity of her injury, but the accident sparked a wave of criticism on social media, as activists denounced the lack of safety measures and first aid at the show site.
