A court in the city of Fez issued a three-year prison sentence against a Moroccan citizen residing in Belgium, after convicting him of falsely reporting the presence of a bomb on an airplane.
The details of the incident go back to the beginning of this July, when the accused contacted the Fez Sais Airport administration to report a bomb on board a plane that was taking him to his country.
According to reports, the immigrant reported the bomb because he felt angry after being prevented from boarding the plane as a result of being late for take-off.
This false report led to a state of alert among the security authorities at the airport, which required urgent measures to be taken.
The fifty-year-old citizen was charged with charges related to disrupting a flight and threatening the safety of the plane. In addition to the prison sentence, the court imposed a fine amounting to approximately one thousand dollars.
