The Technical Room for Autumn Emergencies at the Ministry of Health in the Northern State of Sudan reported 14 deaths and 84 injuries due to the violent floods that hit the region.

The heavy rains and torrential floods caused severe damage to the region, where 21 people were stung by deadly scorpions.

More than 2,766 families were affected by the floods, which led to the partial collapse of 2,832 homes and the complete collapse of 346 homes, and 18 government facilities were severely damaged.

The continuous rains that fell on 55 areas led to torrential floods sweeping through many areas, and the acting governor of the Northern State, Abdeen Awad Allah Mohammed, held a meeting to assess the damage and future measures to deal with the floods.

The authorities also made an urgent appeal to the international community and organizations to provide the necessary assistance to those affected, amid expectations of continued severe weather conditions.
