Algerian football witnessed a tragic event on Sunday evening when 17-year-old player Wassim Gazzar died when he fell to the ground inside the stadium.
Algerian player Wassim Jazzar, a player of Oued El Maa du Sahel, died after being injured during a domestic match with Amal Maraouna.
In the details of the injury, the 17-year-old received a blow to the head, swallowed his tongue, lost consciousness, and fell into a coma, and then died on Sunday.
The Algerian public criticized the lack of an ambulance in the stadium, as the player was transported by civilian car, sometime after he was injured.
In a statement to the Algerian Football Federation, Walid Sadi, President of the Federation, expressed his shock at the death of the player, and the statement conveyed the Federation’s condolences to the family of the deceased and his fans and to the Club of the Star of the Valley of the Water
The player # Wassim Jazar died in the U17 category for Wad Ma’a team during a youth league match of the Batna Regional League, following a fatal fall that resulted in him being in a coma for a week.
