The Mauritanian Football Federation announced on Saturday the death of national team and customs club goalkeeper Mohamed Mokhtar.
The Mauritanian federation said the 22-year-old goalkeeper died after falling into a coma for a week after colliding with one of his teammates during customs club training.
The Mauritanian Football Federation said on its Facebook page: “The deceased young man was known for his great love for his homeland, talent, commitment and discipline, so he was an example among his colleagues of sincerity at work and professional commitment.”
As a result, the Mauritanian Football Federation decided to postpone the final match of the cup competition, which was scheduled to be held on Saturday evening, with another date to be set.
