Morocco announced that it had helped a number of African countries after internet service was shut down due to damage to undersea fiber optic cables in West and Central Africa.
Moroccan media quoted informed sources as saying that access to the Internet has been disrupted in many African countries, with the exception of the services of Moov Africa, branches of Maroc Telecom Group.
The source added that Moov Africa customers in Côte d’Ivoire are connected to the Internet via the Maroc Telecom Group’s West Africa submarine cable, which connects West Africa to Europe through Morocco through 8 disembarkation points.
The source stated that this action enabled many operators to stay in touch.
