Morocco has embarked on a journey in the development of the automotive industry, as the country went from being almost non-existent to becoming one of Africa’s largest car producers in less than two decades.
The kingdom, which is located in North Africa, supplies Europe with more cars than China, India, or Japan, with a production capacity of 700,000 cars a year.
Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade Riad Mezour stressed the government’s determination to maintain the country’s role as a major force in the automotive industry by competing for electric vehicle projects.
The Moroccan government is focused on providing more than just cheap labor to foreign automakers, but rather on expanding infrastructure and providing appropriate support to manufacturers, Mazour said.
