Argentine star Lionel Messi added another milestone to his record after being crowned Major League Soccer Player of the Month award for April.

The award, announced by the Major League Soccer (MLS) in an official statement, came in recognition of Messi’s exceptional performance, which included his contribution to ten goals in four games, where he scored six goals and provided four assists.

Messi played 315 minutes during the month, proving his high effectiveness by scoring or assisting a goal every 31.5 minutes approximately.

This statistic illustrates its significant role in Inter Miami’s top spot in the Eastern Group in the league, where the team collected 21 points, three points ahead of their nearest rivals.

Messi also impressed in the last game of the month, leading his team to a 4-1 win over New England Revolution, scoring twice.

This strong performance comes after he was also honored with the Player of the Week award after leading Inter Miami to a 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City.

This is the first time Messi has won the Major League Soccer ( MLS) Player of the Month award since joining Inter Miami in the summer of 2023, underscoring his immediate and tangible impact on American football.

Inter Miami was founded on January 29, 2018, and joined Major League Soccer in the 2020 season, and received international attention due to the club’s president and co-owner David Beckham.
