The International Federation of Football (FIFA) imposed a financial penalty on the Egyptian club Al-Ahly, after defeating its counterpart Al-Ittihad 3-1 on Friday, in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup.
FIFA imposed a financial penalty on Al-Ahly club of 20,000 Swiss francs (23,000 US dollars), because of the exposure of French player Anthony Modeste direct expulsion in the match Union after his violent intervention on defender Ahmed Hegazy.
The International Federation signed another fine on Ahli of 30,000 Swiss francs ($ 34,000), because the trio, Mahmoud Kahraba, Hussein Shahat and Imam Ashour, received a yellow card in the meeting with the federation.
It is noteworthy that Al Ahli will face his Brazilian counterpart Fluminense (Brazilian champions), on Monday at nine pm Mecca time (sixth GMT), within the golden box of the Club World Cup football held in Saudi Arabia.
