Ten people were killed in Azilal province, and 8 others were injured in a traffic accident on Sunday (March 17th) after a transport vehicle overturned and collapsed on a cliff.
According to the Moroccan Civil Protection spokesman, the Kingdom witnessed 279 accidents, including 34 for extinguishing fires, 78 for rescue and ambulance on the roads and 163 for ambulance in separate accidents.
Traffic accidents in Morocco cause 10 deaths a day and 250 injuries, leading to 3,500 deaths and 12,000 injuries annually.
These accidents cost the Moroccan economy about $1 billion annually, equivalent to 1.69% of GDP.
